Social, Charter & Changeover Events

During the Lions year, the members of Elham Valley & Wye Lions Club pay small subscription fees and raise money for the Club's Administration Account via Charter Nights, Tail Twisters etc.

This money is dedicated to the running of the club only with any additional admin funds used to help subsidise social events with a small charge being made to members where appropriate.

Social, Charter and Changeover events are run by the Club for it's members and self funded.

All monies raised by the Club which have been donated by the public, businesses or organisations held in a separate Charity Trust account ensuring that every single penny is given back to deserving community and humanitarian causes.

Changeover 2014

On 30th June the Lions Year comes to an official end and the 1st July is the start of the New Lions year.

It is around this time that a change over social party is arranged so one President's year ends a new president is appointed.

Usually we have a BBQ and afternoon of chat with a few beers or glasses of wine. This is one of the social enjoyments of the Lions Year and can be a very relaxed and enjoyable afternoon.

Sometimes the weather can be a little inclement!

Occasionally, a new member is welcomed into the club and not only did we have a change over of Presidents this year, Derek Bartter joined EVWLC. Having been an active helper for a few years,  it was great to have Derek join the team.

Changeover 2011

July is start of a new Lions Year and on Sunday 10th July 2011, we all got together for a barbeque to celebrate the end of Lion President John Brook's Year and the start of a new year for our new President Neil Hope.

A great afternoon of food, drink and socialising was had by all.

Many thanks to Neil and Maureen Seymour for hosting the afternoon and preparing and cooking all the food (assisted in the BBQ area of course by Keith!)
